CRM implementation checklist

12 decisions to make before you buy the license and start the setup: process, people, data and scope. Answer yes or no and see your result right away, no email required.

Step 1 of 5

Sales process

Is your sales process written down, with the stages from first inquiry to signed contract?

A tool without a written process will not help and can get in the way. The stages and what moves a deal to the next one are the basis of the pipeline setup.

Do you know when an inquiry becomes a deal and when it stays a lead?

Only qualified opportunities belong in the pipeline. Otherwise it fills up with inquiries that will never close, and the forecast stops meaning anything.

Do you know which 3-4 reports you want to look at every week?

Reports decide which fields your team has to fill in. A field you never report on is just extra work.

Questions about preparing for implementation

How long does a HubSpot implementation take?

It depends on the scope, so I do not give a date before the workshop. A simple CRM for a sales team takes a few weeks at minimum, and integrations or data migration add to that.

What is a pre-implementation workshop?

A few online sessions of 1.5-2 hours with the people who will work in the CRM. We settle the process, data, integrations and launch scope. You leave with an implementation document you can use to roll out HubSpot yourself, with me or with another partner. See how the workshop works.

What if most of my answers are “not sure”?

That is common before a first CRM. These decisions get settled in a pre-implementation workshop with the people who will work in the system. Email yourself the result and come back to it before the call.

When should I buy the HubSpot license?

After the scope is set. Only then do you know how many seats and which edition you need. You can estimate the license cost in the HubSpot pricing calculator.
