The problem this solves
Forms save contacts to the CRM, and that’s where it ends. Marketing counts new contacts, sales ignores the list, and someone changes the lifecycle stage by hand when they remember. The database grows, the pipeline stalls and the funnel report is fiction.
How I work
I start with definitions, because automation without them only speeds up the mess. With marketing and sales we agree what each lifecycle stage means, how to recognize a sales-ready lead and what sales does once it gets one. I write the decisions down where both teams can see them.
Then I set it up in Marketing Hub: workflows that move lifecycle stages based on behavior and form data, scoring with points for company fit and contact engagement, and a handoff to sales with an alert and a due date. A rep can reject a lead with a reason, and marketing sees those reasons in a report. Contacts that aren’t ready yet go into an email series.
What you get
- Definitions of lifecycle stages and a sales-ready lead
- Workflows that update lifecycle stages
- Scoring: company fit and contact engagement
- Handoff to sales with an alert and a due date
- Lead rejection with a reason, and a report on reasons
- A funnel report: movement between stages
