The problem this solves
Off-the-shelf apps cover the typical case, but your system has an old API or data no connector can map. So someone uploads a CSV file every night, and when they’re on vacation, data stops flowing and nobody notices.
How I work
Before writing any code, I put together a short integration spec: what data, in which direction, what triggers the transfer, how many records and what happens in a conflict. We agree on it before work starts.
I write the code in Node or Python and run it on AWS. Incoming webhooks from workflows or a HubSpot private app get signature verification. Every write has a key that prevents duplicates on retry, and request rates stay well under HubSpot’s API limits. On a temporary error the code retries, and longer jobs save their progress, so after an interruption they pick up where they left off. The code, an architecture write-up and an incident runbook stay with you.
What you get
- A written integration spec: data, direction, events and conflicts
- A webhook receiver with signature verification
- Node or Python code with duplicate protection
- Retries and headroom under HubSpot’s API limits
- An operations log and error alerts
- An architecture write-up and an incident runbook
